Old Man's Cave

The most iconic trail in Hocking Hills. A 1.5-mile path through a deep gorge with Upper Falls, Lower Falls, and the Devil's Bathtub — a swirling pool carved into sandstone over millennia.
Rock House
6.1 miles
The only true cave formation in the Hocking Hills region — a tunnel carved midway up a cliff face. Walk through it and feel small in the best way.
Cedar Falls
7.4 miles
A powerful waterfall surrounded by ancient hemlocks. The trail descends through a narrow gorge that feels untouched. Connected to Ash Cave and Old Man's Cave by the Grandma Gatewood Trail.
Whispering Cave
7.8 miles
A dramatic recess cave reached by a steep gorge hike. The acoustics inside give it its name — sounds carry in ways that feel almost designed. Worth the effort.
Ash Cave
9.9 miles
The largest recess cave east of the Mississippi — 700 feet wide, horseshoe-shaped, with a 90-foot seasonal waterfall. The half-mile trail through hemlock forest is wheelchair accessible and stunning in every season.
Rockbridge State Nature Preserve
Minutes away
Ohio's largest natural bridge — over 100 feet long, arching 50 feet above a ravine. A 2.75-mile trail system with rock shelters and Hocking River access. This is in your backyard.
Cantwell Cliffs
15 miles
The most remote and least crowded of the Hocking Hills formations. Towering rock faces, narrow passages, and challenging trails reward those willing to venture a bit further.
